The evening begins with a shell lei greeting. You will enjoy Hawaiian music performed by a local band while you sip your favorite cocktail from the two-hour open bar. The Imu (underground oven) will be opened at 6:00pm and the main-dish, Kalua pig will be shown.
The Drums of Makena begins at 7:15pm. The show features the authentic cultural dances of Hawaii, Raratonga, Tahiti, New Zealand (Atearoa) and Samoa. Your night ends with the famous Fire Knife dance finale.
This voyage through the South Pacific will take you back in time. A pageant presentation of the Polynesians from Hawai'i, Raratonga, Tahiti, New Zealand (Atearoa) and Samoa, is set to pulsating and syncopated drum beats. Experience the celebrative festival dances of Tahiti, the exotic hypnotizing dances of the Tuamotus, the fierce warrior dances of Fiji, the legendary dance of the Hawaiian princess Kalua and of course the intriguing fire knife dance of Samoa. Dance in your loved one's arms while the Hawaiian wedding song as presented. Be ready to participate on stage in the Tahitian tamure dance.
